Grammar

DD6 has been working on her grammar this week.
She was given a sample of pictures this week and had to cut and paste then write a sentence for each.
The next day she was given a pile of stickers corresponding to the Montessori grammar symbols (see downloads for sticker and poster) and had to identify each part of the sentence: noun, adjective, article or verb.

We only worked on these four parts as they are all she has covered to date. (I will post these 4 presentations later).

Isn't it great when the kids spontaneously tell someone what something is or is not after learning it with you. My kids love pointing at the moon and announcing the phrase it is in. (we are studying at the moment) I love your ideas:)

Thank you so much for posting the poster and the stickers. I am beginning to add more and more Montessori activities to our homeschool. So many blogs focus on the preschool ages, but I love how you also include elementary aged activities as well. Thanks so much.

Love your blog...any chance you have stumbled across any good elementary guides for introducing the parts of speech materials? I would imagine there is an order to follow - start with a noun, etc..and samples of how to present the works?

Thank you so much for the grammar symbol sticker download! We hosted a girl from Germany this summer for a month (she's 15 now) and she is still struggling in English class. Her mother is a Montessori teacher in Germany at the private Montessori school she attended up until 2 years ago when she transferred to the Realschule so I really wanted to help her learn English better with the Montessori method since that is the foundation of her educational experience. Now I have the resource (your grammar symbol stickers) to create some English grammar homework for her to work on outside of her regular school work to reinforce what she already knows, to fill in the gaps of what she doesn't know and to help her make more sense of her current English homework! Thank you so much!!! I wish I had more time to post like you do - you have a great blog!
