Fossil Hunting

We spent a rainy and windy day on the beach in Filey with our local Home Ed History group. They had arranged a fossil hunt and had a lovely geologist along to advise the children on what they discovered.

When they found something interesting, he would draw a quick sketch and tell them all about the creature it came from.

The girls managed to find some belemnite pieces,

some devil’s toenails (gryphaea) that they remembered from their Stone girl, Bone Girl study

and a piece of an ammonite.
